40 C ONSTABLE'S RETURN <br /> nrj <br /> To the Town Clerk, December 19, 1945 <br /> I have notified the inhabitants of Lexington by posting printed <br /> copies of the foregoing Warrant in the vestibule of the Town Office <br /> Building and seven other public places in the Town and by mailing a <br /> printed copy of the same to every registered voter in the Town, eleven <br /> days before the time of said meeting. <br /> Attest: John C . Russell <br /> Constable of Lexington <br /> SPECIAL TOWN MEETING HELD DECEMBER 28, 1945 <br /> The Special Town Meeting was called to order by the Moderator, <br /> Robert H. Holt, at 8:05 P. M. <br /> There were 100 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> Warrant for the meeting was read by the Town Clerk, James J. <br /> Carroll, until further reading was waived upon motion of Errol H. <br /> Locke, Selectmen. This was duly seconded and carried. <br /> Constable's Return was read by Town Clerk, James J. Carroll. 8:06 P.M. <br /> Article 1 as presented by Selectmen, Errol H. Locke: <br /> Article 1. VOTED: That the sum of , ,000.00 be appropriated for the <br /> removal of snow and ice, this amount to be transferred <br /> from the Excess and Deficiency Account. <br /> Appropriation Committee Report presented by Lewis H. Hoyt, ;Chair- <br /> man, which was accepted and placed on file. 8:07 P. M. <br /> Article 1 as presented Carried Unanimously 8:08 P. M. <br /> Article 2 presented by Selectmen, Errol H. Locke. <br /> Article 2. VOTED: That the Town ratify and approve payments or <br /> liability for snow removal in 1945 prior to this meeting, <br /> due to an extreme emergency involving the safety of <br /> persons and property, as voted by two-thirds of the <br /> Selectmen under authority of G. L., Chap. 44, Sec . 31 <br /> and that the sum of $7,000.00 be appropriated therefor <br /> to be provided by transfer from the Excess and Deficiency <br /> Account. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:10 P. M. <br /> Article 3 presented by Selectmen, Errol H. Locke. <br /> Article 3. VOTED: That the sum of $530.67 be appropriated for Old <br /> Age Assistance, this amount to be transferred from the <br /> Excess and Deficiency Account. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8:11 P.
