49 <br /> REPRESENTATIVE ELECTION <br /> November 13, 1942 <br /> Pursuant to the General Laws, the City Clerk of Waltham and <br /> the Town Clerks of Bedford and Lexington met at Waltham this day <br /> ten thirty o!clock in the forenoon for the purpose of canvassing the <br /> votes cast on the third day of November 1942 for the election of three <br /> representatives to the General Court of the Commonwealth of Massa- <br /> chusetts to represent the seventh Middlesex Representative District. <br /> The result of the canvass was as follows : <br /> In Waltham <br /> George Chauncey Cousens had eight thousand five hundred ninety- <br /> eight, (8,598 ) . <br /> William E. Hays had seven thousand one hundred fifty-four (7,154) . <br /> Charles E. Ferguson had six thousand two hundred ninety-seven <br /> (6,297 ) . <br /> In Bedford <br /> George Chauncey Cousens had four hundred seventy-one (471 ) , <br /> William E. Hays had four hundred forty-two (442 ) . <br /> Charles E. Ferguson had five hundred forty-one (541 ) . <br /> In Lexington <br /> George Chauncey Cousens had three thousand forty-six (3,046) . <br /> William E. Hays had two thousand nine hundred forty-six (2,946) . <br /> Charles E. Ferguson had three thousand five hundred forty-four <br /> (3,544) . <br /> The return showed that George Chauncey Cousens, William E. Hays, <br /> and Charles E. Ferguson had the majority of the votes cast in Wal- <br /> tham, Bedford, and Lexington and certificates were accordingly <br /> filled out by the Clerks present to be delivered to George Chauncey <br /> Cousens, 240 Linden Street, Waltham; William E.
