114 <br /> REPRESENTATIVE ELECTION <br /> November 14, 1944 <br /> (7.) <br /> Pursuant to the General Laws , the City Clerk of Waltham and the Town <br /> Clerks of Bedford ,and Lexington met at Waltham this day at eleven <br /> o' clock in the forenoon for the purpose of canvassing the votes <br /> cast on the seventh day of November 1944 for the election of three <br /> representatives to theGeneralCourt of the Commonwealth of Massa- <br /> chusetts to represent the seventh Middlesex Representative District . <br /> The result of the canvass was as follows: <br /> In Waltham <br /> George Chauncey Cousens had thirteen thousand five hundred <br /> seventy-nine ( 13,579) . <br /> Charles E. Ferguson had eleven thousand seven hundred <br /> forty-two ( 11,742) . <br /> William E. Hays had twelve thousand seven hundred seventy- <br /> three ( 12,7733 . <br /> In Bedford <br /> George Chauncey Cousens had seven hundred seventy-nine ( 779) . <br /> Charles E. Ferguson had eight hundred forty-six ( 846) , <br /> William E. Hays had seven hundred forty-seven ( 747) 0 <br /> In Lexington <br /> George Chauncey Pousens had four thousand five hundred three <br /> ( 4,503) . <br /> Charles E. Ferguson had five thousand four hundred twenty- <br /> three ( 5423) . <br /> William E. Hays had four thousand three hundred ninety-five <br /> ( 4,395) . <br /> The return showed that George Chauncey Cousens, Charles, E. <br /> Ferguson and William E . Hays had the majority of the votes cast in <br /> Waltham, Bedford and Lexington and certificates were accordingly <br /> filled out by the Clerks present to be delivered to George Chauncey <br /> Cousens, 240 Linden Street, Waltham; Charles E. Ferguson, 16 High- <br /> land Avenue, Lexington; and William E. Hays, 455 Lexington Street, <br /> Waltham, <br /> William J. Lanagan, City Clerk of Waltham. <br /> Arthur E.
