SPECIAL ELECTION, REFERENDUM FOR NEW HIGH SCHOOL HELD APRIL 26, 1949 <br /> (See Warrant Book - Page <br /> In pursuance of the foregoing warrant the legal voters of <br /> the Town of Lexington met in their respective voting places in said <br /> Town of Lexington Tuesday, April the twenty-sixth in the year of our <br /> Lord nineteen hundred and forty-nine at seven-thirty o 'clock in the <br /> forenoon. <br /> The following places were designated as the voting places for <br /> the various precincts: Precinct One , Adams School; Precinct Two , <br /> Three and Four , Cary Memorial Hall. <br /> The following election officers having been duly appointed by <br /> the Selectmen , and Wardens of the various precincts were assigned <br /> for duty as follows: <br /> PRECINCT ONE PRECINCT TWO <br /> Charles J. Dailey Warden Helen K. Fitzgerald <br /> George E. Foster Inspector Randall Richards <br /> Mary E. Stankard Inspector Edward McGrory <br /> Mary A. Roland Clerk John H. Dacey <br /> Annie H. MacDonell Teller Elizabeth R. Nourse <br /> Helga M. Carlson Teller Eleanor T. Husted <br /> PRECINCT THREE PRECINCT FOUR <br /> Charles F. Vaughan Warden Lester L. Andrews <br /> Henry P. Meade Inspector Helen M. Kirk <br /> Gladys T. Watson Inspector Mary A. Spellman <br /> Emma Zitso Clerk _ Mary J. Ferry <br /> Edna D. Anderson Teller Catherine M. Ferry <br /> Rosalie MacDonald Teller Agnes G. Hall <br /> The polls were declared open in each precinct at seven- <br /> thirty o'clock A.M. and remained open until eight o'clock P.M. , <br /> after which time , after due notice , they were closed. <br /> The election officers were sworn to the faithful performance <br /> of their duties. <br /> The ballots were counted by the election officers in each <br /> precinct , the tally sheets and total vote sheets prepared by the Town <br /> Clerk being used. <br /> The total registration of voters in each precinct was as <br /> follows: <br /> Precinct One One thousand eight hundred ninety-three 1$93 <br /> Precinct Two One thousand four hundred eighty-four 14$4 <br /> Precinct Three One thousand six hundred seventy-seven 1677 <br /> Precinct Four One thousand nine hundred sixty-five 1965 <br /> Total Seven thousand and nineteen 7019 <br />
