Project: East Lexington Fire Station <br />CPA Category: Historic Preservation <br />Amount Requested: $47,500 <br />Amount Recommended: $47,500 <br />CPC Vote: Storm Windows — Approval (9 -0) <br />Air Conditioning — Approval (5 -4) <br />Project Description: <br />This project is proposed to replace existing storm windows and to install a central air <br />conditioning system at the East Lexington Fire Station. <br />Project Goals and Objectives: <br />• Install new storm windows acceptable to the Historic Districts Commission (the same <br />type installed on the Town Office Building and Police Station two years ago). <br />• Create anew, energy efficient window system for the building. <br />• Install an air conditioning system that will serve the living areas within the station. <br />Project Benefit: <br />New windows and an air conditioning system in the East Lexington Fire Station will continue <br />the Town's ongoing effort under the successful Building Envelope Program to preserve and <br />update building systems and to ensure that the buildings remain fully functional for their <br />intended uses. <br />Funding Request: <br />The project requests $47,500 of CPA funding to replace existing storm windows ($18,000) and <br />to install a central air conditioning system ($29,500) at the East Lexington Fire Station. <br />17 <br />
