The overview dates of theses budgets are scheduled to <br />take place between Jan. 9 - Oan. 30, 1989, which are a month Parl i <br />er in <br />sequence than FY89. T t was hoped that the School Committee would be able to <br />proceed with the same rate of speed as the other departments. <br />ALARM CONNECTTONS/REGULATIONS <br />Police Chief Furdon reported that a few hundred homes are connected <br />to the alarm monitoring equipment located in the police station. These <br />small alarm s vstems were developed prior t the sophisticated i st i cated ri vate <br />P P <br />security systems that are now available, Chief Furdon stated that the <br />PolirP Dept. should answer alarms not monitor the alarm board as <br />technology is Metter now and moni tori na companies can s creen out false <br />burglar alarms. <br />Fire Chief Bergeron referred to the 20 connections to the Fire <br />Dept. With so few houses connection to the Fire Dept. system he felt Magi <br />the Fire De P y <br />Dept. should be out of the dialer service business in 5 <br />months time. <br />Mr. Eddi son asked how much time lag for professional service <br />response is now available. <br />Chief Furdon said that the proposal would include a special line so <br />that the call would <br />u be able to get off the emergence line quickly. Mr. <br />White responded that once the alarm is accidently trig Bred the resident <br />has a few seconds before f • h • <br />.
