M. in Cary Memorial Hall. <br /> There were 199 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> Invocation offered by Rev. Harold T. Handley, Rector of the Church of <br /> Our Redeemer. 8 :13 P. M. <br /> The Moderator stated that he had letters to the effect that the <br /> following Town Meeting Members would not vote on certain articles in <br /> accordance with the. Code of Ethics: <br /> Roy Edward Cook and William T. Whiting - Articles pertaining to the <br /> Fire Department: Articles 4, 35, 36 and 37. <br /> Richard Souza - Article 34. <br /> Arthur T. Bernier - Article 39. <br /> Norman P. Cohen - Articles 32 and 33. <br /> Article 2. Robert H. Kingston moved that the Supplementary Report of the <br /> Capital Expenditures Committee be accepted and placed on file. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8 :17 P. M. <br /> Article 32. Presented by Erik L. Mollo-Christensen. <br /> MOTION: To raise and appropriate the sum of $16,640.00 for <br /> the purpose of paying the Town's apportioned share of the <br /> operating and maintenance costs for the current fiscal year <br /> of the Minuteman Regional. Vocational Technical School District <br /> consisting of the towns of Acton, Arlington, Belmont, Box- <br /> borough, Carlisle, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, Stow, Sudbury, <br /> Wayland and Weston. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8 :19 P. M. <br /> Article 33. Presented by Vernon C. Page. <br /> MOTION.: That this article be indefinitely postponed. <br /> Carried Unanimously 8 :21 P. M. <br /> Article 34. Presented by Fred C. Bailey. <br /> MOTION: That the Permanent Building Committee, appointed <br /> under authority of the vote adopted under Article 73 of the <br /> Warrant for the 1967 Annual Town Meeting, be and hereby is <br /> authorized to retain professional services and prepare final <br /> plans and specifications and to obtain bids for the remodeling <br /> of and additions to the Cary Memorial Library building and for <br /> the original equipping and furnishing of said remodeled <br /> building and said addition; and that the sum of $112 ,000.00 <br /> be appropriated therefor, and that payment be provided by <br /> transfer from the Excess and Deficiency Account. <br /> 8 :22 P. M. <br /> Robert V. Whitman, Chairman of the Permanent Building <br /> Committee, shows slides and answers many questions. <br /> Elizabeth H. Clarke moved to strike all the remaining words <br /> beginning "and that the sum. . . " and to replace these words <br /> with: <br /> . . .and that the sum of $140,000 be appropriated therefore and <br /> that payment be provided by transfer of $112 ,000 from the <br /> Excess and Deficiency account and by raising the balance of <br /> $28 ,000 in the current tax levy. <br /> 8 :43 P.
