(6 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />July 25, 1988' <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, <br />July 25, 1988, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town office Building, at <br />8:00 p.m. Chairman Smith. Mr. Eddison, Mr. Dailey, Mr. McSweeney; Mr. <br />White, Town Manager; Mrs. Snow, Executive Clerk, were present. Mr. <br />Marshall joined the meeting later. <br />MINUTES <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />minutes of the Selectmen's Meeting on June 20, 1988, as presented. <br />EXTENSION OF HOURS, SHERATON /LEXINGTON MOTOR INN <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />request of Sheraton /Lexington Inn, 727 Marrett Road, for permission to <br />extend hours of operation under its Innkeeper Liquor License on June 17, <br />1389, to 1.00 a.m. <br />BOSTON PROPERTIES /OLD COUNTY ROAD <br />The Board reviewed Mr. Eddison's draft letter to Chairman Larkin, <br />Board of Middlesex County Commissioners, in response to the <br />Commissioners' denial of Boston Properties' petitions relative to old <br />County Road and Winter Street in Lincoln. The letter expressed <br />appreciation for this action and further requested that a proposed MAPC <br />study of the Winter Street /old Colony Road area be expanded to include <br />concerns about the protection of the watershed of the Cambridge <br />Reservoir and the alleviation of deteriorating traffic conditions on <br />stretches of Rtes 2 and 128 and connecting road systems in the area <br />towns. Board members were in agreement that the letter to Mr. Larkin be <br />sent as drafted, with a copy to Senator Barrett of Cambridge. <br />Mr. Marshall joined the meeting at that time. <br />SGT. NORMAN CARLSON L.P.D. <br />Mr. white informed the Board of his intention to nominate Sgt. <br />Norman S. Carlson, Lexington Police Dept., as Lexington's candidate for <br />the Mass. Municipal Association's Annual outstanding Employee of the <br />Year Award. <br />He read a report from Captain Philip Taylor which outlined Sgt. <br />Carlson's civic activities, his high performance as a Police officer and <br />noted his courage and determination in overcoming a serious illness. <br />Sgt. Carlson thanked the Manager for this acknowledgement and spoke <br />of his affection for and appreciation to his fellow Police officers for <br />their support. <br />Board members endorsed Mr. white's nomination and expressed their <br />commendations and appreciation to Sgt. Carlson. <br />P ` . CONSENT AGENDA <br />LIMO LICENSES <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />application of Ultimate Limousine Service, 30 Forest Street for a <br />license to provide limousine service in one vehicle, as requested by <br />David H. Green, Jr. <br />
