Coy }ins 72 Prospect Hill Road <br />Margaret Calder 50 Prospect Hilo, Road <br />BUILDING INSPECTION FEES <br />Mr. White noted that a comparison of Building Tnspection Permit <br />Fees with other communities had been undertaken in conjunction with the <br />budget process, which showed Lei: i ngton' s fee structure to be low, we <br />proposed an increase from $5.00 per $1,000 to $8. 00 /s1, ODO of <br />construction. Minimum and miscellaneous fees had been changed and a <br />new fee of $500 for deed review and determination of lot bu i.ldabi l i ter <br />is included in the proposal. An additional $+25,000 would be realized, <br />based on last year's revenue from fees. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve <br />adjustments and increases in the Lexington Building Department Fee <br />Schedule, as proposed by the Building Commissioner and recommended by <br />the Town Manager. <br />REVIEW of HUMAN SERVICES BUDGET RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Harvey Lowell and Robert Cushman, Co- Chairmen, and Steve Baran, <br />Human Services Coordinator, attended to present the Committee's written <br />report to the Board on its evaluation and recommendations on funding <br />proposals of Human Service Providers for FY88. <br />Mr. Lowell reviewed the Committee's responsibilities as Charged by <br />the Selectmen, and its ongoing efforts to assess changing human service <br />needs in the community. He described the Committee's work in <br />developing a program that would revitalize the existing Senior Health <br />Monitor program. <br />Mr. Lower, outlined procedures followed in review of regular <br />funding requests and the process involved to revi talize the Senior <br />Health Monitor program <br />The Committee's efforts had been guided by awareness of the Town's <br />role in providing for those who need help and current future fiscal <br />constraints faced by the Towns <br />COUNCIL ON ACING <br />The Committee recommended an appropriation of $58,888, as <br />requested by the Council on Aging. Mr. Lowell pointed out that this <br />amount would cover only a portion of the CoA budget, with the remainder <br />tom i ng from several public and pr sources. <br />CENTRAL MIDDLESEX ASSOC. FOR RETARDED CITIZENS (CMARC) <br />Mr. Lowed described CMARC as an outstanding agency that works to <br />meet client needs in training and placement services to retarded <br />adults, and recommended that the $10,€00 requested by approved. <br />COOPERATIVE ELDER SERVICES (CES][) <br />CESI provides an Adult Day Health program for f ra i 1 elderly <br />people, and served 22 Lei. i ngton residents this ;rear from its Arlington <br />facility. Level funding in the amount of $8 , 0 0 i s requested and has <br />received favorable recommendations from the Human Services Committee. <br />..end <br />
