.M2- <br />The students were thanked for their efforts and interest in Town <br />Government and they retired from the meeting. <br />PROCL AMATIGN STUDENT GOVERNMENT DAY_ <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to proclaim Wednesday, <br />April 9, 1986 as Student Government Day, <br />BOSTON EDI SON CONDUIT 1_�E�FORD STREET <br />Mr. Chisholm representing Boston Edison Company, was present for the <br />public hearing on that company's petition for permission to install conduit <br />in Bedford Street. He explained the need for the installation to provide <br />electric service to #57 Bedford Street. Work is scheduled to commence after <br />Apr st and only one half of the roadway will be opened at one time. <br />The r mmendation of the Director of Public Works in favor of approval <br />was noted. There being no ether comments favor or in opposition, the <br />Chairman declared the h ear i ng closed, <br />Upon motiou duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />petition of Boston Edison Company for permission to install approximately 76 <br />feet of conduit in Bedford Street, approximately 93 feet north of Worthen <br />Road, thence turning and running east. <br />TRAFFIC ITEM - CENTER PLAYGROUND <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to refer the request <br />of Alexandra Hewer relative to traffic safety concerns near the Center <br />Playground to the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee for review and <br />recommendation. <br />WATER CHARGES. 12 EMERALD STREET <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve water <br />charges in lieu of betterment in the amount of $90.00 for property owned by <br />Robert Phelan at 12 Emerald Street. <br />TOWN WESTING ARTICLES <br />Wr. Hutchinson reviewed with the Board a list of items to be dealt with <br />at that night's session of Town Meeting. He noted the School Committee's <br />request to take up the School Rehabilitation Article on May 7, and <br />recommended this procedure to allow time for the bus tour and study by the <br />Permanent Building Committee. <br />With respect to the School Computer Systems Article, which was expected <br />to come up that evening, Board members unanimously expressed their views in <br />opposition to the current proposal. <br />
