r� <br />a <br />` SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />' March 18, 1.986 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Tuesday, March <br />18, 1988, in the, Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office Building, at 7:80 <br />p.m. Chairman Marshall, Mr. Eddison, Mr. Dailey, Mrs. Smith, Mr. McSweeney; <br />Mr. Hutchinson, Town Manager; Mr, Cohen, Town Counsel; Ms. Adler, Assistant <br />to the Town Manager; Mrs. Snow, Executive Clerk, were present. <br />BOSTON ELISON CONCORD AVENUE CONLUIT <br />Mr. Marshall opened a Public Hearing on the petition of Boston Edison <br />Company for permission to install conduit in Concord Avenue. <br />Carol. McManus, representing Boston Edison, reported that the <br />installation is necessary in order to prov electric service to #916 <br />Waltham Street, <br />With the exception of a memorandum from the Director of Public Works <br />which recommended approval, there were no statements made in favor or in <br />opposition and the hearing was declared closed. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to grant permission to <br />the Boston Edison Company to install approx_imately 8 feet of conduit in <br />Concord Avenue southerly approximately 148 feet east of Waltham Street. <br />0■ <br />.P „POCLAMAT I ON s REIN CROSS MONTH <br />�rrr_irnn■ ■i■�nir <br />rna <br />Dr. Daniel Yuill, Director of the Minuteman Chapter of the American Red <br />Cross, was present to request that the month of March be proclaimed as Red <br />Cross Month in Lexington and that the Red Cross flag be flown for that <br />period in a visible community location. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to proclaim the mop th <br />of-March as Red Cross Month and to request the Town Manager to make <br />arrangements for the display of the Red Cross Flag during that period. <br />. Mrs. Castleman <br />reported that bids for LEXPRESS service had been received and felt that the <br />Committee would recommend awarding the contract to Safety Transportation Co. <br />Based on that company's bid, the cost for current level of service in FY87 <br />would be $386,500, which with fare receipts and META subsidy totalling <br />$144,000, would call for a Town appropriation of $248,500.
