7"1 <br />LA � <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />4 <br />L r ` JANUARY 29 1936 <br />A regular meet ing of the Board of Selectmen held on Wednesday, <br />January 39, 1936, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office Building, at <br />7:30 p.m. Chairman Marshall, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Eddison, Mr. Dailey; Mr. <br />Hutchinson, Town Manager.; Mrs. Snow, Executive Clerk, were present. <br />WARRANT, 1986 ANNUAL TOWN nunn.�wm <br />�irn.ni.n ir��rrnmoirn wi�irrmrrirnri■ �w�w�rirrrrnm .u.o�w.r..ri <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to sign the Warrant <br />for the 1986 Annual Town Meeting on March 3, 19968. <br />BULLET REVIEWS <br />T'REASURERXTAX COLLECTOR <br />■.ninny irrui i�iu i iir.mror. <br />Mr. Kane, Treasurer /Tax Collector, was present for report on the <br />operation of his departments and review of Personal Services Account 2500, <br />just about level funded except for any wage increases, and Expense Account <br />'"""' 2525, with an increase of 4.5 %. He reported that computerization of all <br />receivables is in progress. He explained the benefits of lock -box s sty ;_ <br />wh relieve staff of cyclical fluctuat and allow for quicker - <br />i nvestment of funds and greater return of.interest. <br />COMPTROLLER <br />Mr. Perry, Comptroller, submitted his request under Account 2850, <br />Personal Services, also level funded. He reported on the performance of the <br />VAX system, installed last year, noting that at this time it is being <br />utilized for at least 6 hours per day, with increased usage expected. <br />Under Account 2935, Office Machine /Capital Outlay, he explained that <br />his request in the amount of $35,000 ($23,000 increase) was based on the <br />need for additional support equipment to increase the capacity of the VAX <br />system; computer terminals; an additional Xerox machine; micro computers and <br />printers; typewriters; and miscellaneous desk machinery i.e. calculators. <br />Regarding the $13,000 request for three micro computers, it was <br />suggested that less expensive models are available, possibly through mail <br />order operations, which might allow purchase of six machines under the <br />current market. <br />It was noted that the Data Processing Committee is now operating on an <br />ad hoc basis and is available for assistance in selection of equipment, The <br />Committee will be asked to confer on School Committee computer equipment <br />requests. <br />It was agreed that the Town.Manager will explore just how much <br />equipment can be purchased for the $35.400 requested and will report back to <br />the Board. <br />BOARD OF ASSESSORS <br />David Stusse, Town Assessor, presented his department's request under <br />Account 2950, Personal Services, for $97,1842 <br />Under Account 3000, Expenses, the Assessors' request for $11,904 is <br />level funded= <br />
