Poulter� Winthrop Roads, as requested by a vote of the Conservation Commission, <br />Winthrop Rds. for the protection of the natural and watershed resources of the Town. <br />Water abate- Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve abate - <br />ment, Pierce, ment of water charges for George Pierce, 63 VaIleyf field Road, in the amount <br />63 Valleyf ield of $209. because of incorrect meter reading.. <br />Cary Trustees Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to recommend to <br />Exec . Comm. the Cary Library Trustees, that Selectman Paul W. Marshall be appointed <br />Marshall to the Library Trustee Executive Committee. <br />MBTA Adv. Bd. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the desig -- <br />Eddison nation by Chairman Battin, of Selectman John C. Eddison to the Massachusetts <br />Bay Transit Authority Advisory Board, representing Lexington. <br />MBTA - Alewif e Chairman. of the Transportation Advisory Committee, Sally Castleman, <br />and Sara Arnold, Lexpres s Coordinator, were present for review of draft <br />recommendations to the MBTA regarding MBTA service in Lexington of ter <br />the opening of the Alewif e Station. Mrs. Castleman noted that MBTA <br />and the consulting f irm of Cambridge Systematics are currently forming <br />their recommendations, which will ,be presented in preliminary f orm to <br />the public in April. The Committee felt that in order to influence <br />the first phase of recommendations, any formal statement of Lexington's <br />needs should be submitted promptly. <br />The requests were listed in a memo dated 3/7 as follows: <br />Request more MBTA service on Hartwell Avenue. <br />Request continued service to Arlington Heights. <br />Request a direct line to Alewife Station. <br />Ask about. the cost and feasibility of evening <br />service between Lexington Center and Alewife <br />Station (or between Lexington Center and <br />Arlington Heights. <br />Request that the MBTA add service to the South <br />Lexington 'industrial. area (e.g. by the Waltham <br />bus or proposed Concord Alewife bus.) <br />Request that LEXPRESS be allowed to service Alewife <br />Station. Ask for a response about this request. <br />Request that non-profit carriers, e. g. Share -A-Ride <br />be allowed to service Alewife Station. Ask for <br />a response about this request. <br />Request that the MBTA c larif y the conditions under <br />which they will allow private operators to service <br />Alewife Station. <br />Suggest that the MBTA contact the LEXPRES S office when <br />
