ARTICLE 27 APPROPRIATE FOR RECREATION CAPITAL PROJECTS <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropnate a sum of money for the following Recreation Department <br /> capital improvements <br /> a) Playground improvements, <br /> b) Engineenng study of the infrastructure of the Center Pool Complex; and <br /> c) Equipment for and improvements to Pine Meadows Golf Course, <br /> and determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax levy, by transfer from available <br /> funds, including the Recreation Enterpnse Fund,by borrowing, or by any combination of these <br /> methods, or act in any other manner in relation thereto <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen at the request of the Recreation Committee) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED $300,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION <br /> a) $225,000 to remove and replace the Center Playground structure A volunteer <br /> community group built the existing Robert Leathers wooden play structure in the late <br /> 1980's and it has surpassed the normal lifespan of a wooden play structure The Recreation <br /> Department and the DPW Parks Division receive numerous calls for maintenance on the <br /> structure, and community concern is high enough that the equipment needs to be removed. <br /> The new structure will be in compliance with current CPSC, ASTM, and Americans with <br /> Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and standards that require accessibility to all new and <br /> renovated facilities <br /> b) $50,000 to hire an engineering firm to complete a study of the infrastructure of the pool <br /> complex. The consultant will provide a detailed list of recommended upgrades and repairs <br /> needed, allowing the Town to plan and budget the renovation efficiently and responsibly <br /> c) $25,000 to replace detenorated equipment at Pine Meadows Gold Club These funds will <br /> be used to purchase a fairway core aerator Replacement of equipment is necessary to <br /> maintain quality turf <br /> ARTICLE 28 APPROPRIATE FOR MUNICIPAL CAPITAL PROJECTS <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for the following capital <br /> improvements <br /> a) Sidewalk Improvements, <br /> b) Lincoln Field Methane Gas Mitigation, <br /> c) Building Envelope, <br /> d) DPW Equipment Replacement; <br /> e) Street Improvements, <br /> f) Storm Sewer Improvements, <br /> g) Replace/Update Dispatch Center; <br /> h) Replacement of Fire Engine 1, and <br /> i) Archives Environmental Controls <br /> 20 <br />
