(WARRANT FOR SPECIAL STATE ELECTION - SEE WARRANT FILE) <br /> SPECIAL STATE ELECTION <br /> JUNE 21, 1977 <br /> Due to the resignation of Senator Ronald C. MacKenzie as senator from the <br /> Fifth Middlesex Senatorial District, on April 5, 1977 a precept issued by <br /> Kevin B. Harrington, President of the Senate, was received. This precept set <br /> forth Tuesday, May 24, 1977 as the day for holding a primary, and Tuesday, June <br /> 21st, 1977 as the day for holding an election to fill the vacancy now existing <br /> in said Fifth Middlesex district, comprising Wards 2, 3 and 4 in the city of <br /> Waltham and the towns of Bedford, Precincts 2 and 3 of Belmont, Burlington, <br /> Carlisle, Chelmsford, Precincts 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Lexington, Lincoln and <br /> Wilmington. <br /> In pursuance of the warrant the legal voters of the Town of Lexington met <br /> in their respective voting places in said Town of Lexington on Tuesday, June <br /> 21, 1977 at 7:00 in the forenoon. <br /> The following places were designated as the voting places for the various <br /> precincts: Precinct Four, Senior High School; Precinct Six, Diamond Junior <br /> High School; Precinct Seven, Estabrook School; Precinct Eight, Central Fire <br /> Station; Precinct Nine, Maria Hastings School. <br /> The election officers and Wardens of the various precincts were assigned for <br /> duty as follows: <br /> Precinct Four Precinct Six <br /> D Edna F.
