Mrs. Smith joined the meeting later. <br />PUBLIC HEARING BOSTON EDISON GROVE STREET <br />Mr. Eddison opened the public hearing on the petition of the Edison <br />Company for permission to install a conduit in Grove Street. <br />Edward Chisholm representing the company, explained that the work is <br />neces sar y to p rovide service to Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, and S at Royal Circle, a new <br />subdivisiono <br />being no comments in favor or in opposi <br />There g tion, Mr. Eddison declared <br />the hearing closed. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />peti tion, p lan lan and order of the Boston Edison company for a grant of location for installation of a conduit in Grove Stree southerly approximately 20 feet <br />of <br />north of Royal circle thence turning and running southeasterly a distance <br />about 33 feet. <br />SCATTERED SITE HOUSING STEDMAN ROAD <br />M r. ex plained Eddison ained that a recent buyer of a house and lot on Clematis <br />P Road, had offered the house to the Town for scattered site housing, if it can <br />be relocated to another lot in the immediate future <br />Marshal D klin erb Chairman of LexHAB, described a site on Stedman Road, <br />part of the F y � School property, whic g h was thou ht to be an appropriate <br />location for the house, and would mean a move easily accomplished. The house, <br />p <br />which <br />would be laced in front of the play area, would be sited so as to allow <br />access to the area for users of the field and for Town vehicles. The 11 -car <br />playground parking round arkin lot would be eliminated and directional signs, indicating <br />ava ilability labilit of p arking on the upper part of the Clarke Middle School grounds, <br />would be installed. <br />Daniel Deutsch, 12 Stedman Road, commented on the currently inadequate <br />p arking arkin to accommodate Sunday users of the field and students of the Chinese <br />School which meets in the area. He felt that the new use would increase the <br />overflow parking in front of residents' homes. <br />Mr. Eddison felt that these issues could be resolved by directional <br />g <br />si na e. He explained the Town's goals to provide affordable housing to Mr. <br />g <br />Deutsch, who had questioned the reasoning for moving the house. <br />Mr. Derby asked that information on the availability of the unit be <br />publicized to Town employees. <br />Mr. Ciriello and Mrs. Whyte, area residents referred to previous <br />promis P <br />es b the Town for arking and road improvements which have not been <br />done. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the request <br />of the Lexington Housing Assistance Board for use of the Stedman Road lot for <br />scattered site housing. <br />
