<br /> November 6, 2008 <br /> <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Town of Lexington Appropriation Committee <br />November 6, 2008 <br /> <br />Place and time: Room G-15, Town Office Building, 7:30 PM <br /> <br />Members present: Alan Levine (Chair), John Bartenstein (Vice Chair), Richard Eurich, <br />Pam Hoffman, Susan McLeish (Secretary), Eric Michelson, Deborah Brown, Mike <br />Kennealy, Rob Addelson (non-voting, ex officio). <br /> <br />Also present: Rob Lent and Mike Tarello <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:40 PM. <br /> <br />Commercial Assessments <br />. A short discussion on commercial assessments and on the <br />Connery valuation of Ledgemont 1 and 2 was held. <br /> <br />Article 3. <br />Rob Addelson indicated that the 2009 budget was underfunded by $24,000 <br />related to crossing guards. In 2010, they will be included in the Police budget versus in <br />the school budget. There is also a need for an additional $50,000 for labor counsel <br />related to the labor contract for the fire department and energy costs have increased <br />substantially and should be reflected in the budget. The committee voted 8-0 to support <br />Article 3. <br /> <br />Article 4. <br />John led a brief discussion on Article 4 and the committee voted to approve it <br />by a vote of 8-0. <br /> <br />Article 5. <br />Rob Addelson led a short discussion regarding the Article and we discussed <br />the cost for the appraisal of $4,600. The committee voted, 8-0 in favor of the Article. <br /> <br />Article 6. <br />The CEC and CPC both approve of this Article. Funds used will be CPA <br />funds. A point was made to have a discussion regarding the change in the cost estimate <br />for the project with Pat Goddard of the Facilities Department and we will defer our vote <br />until Monday. <br /> <br />Article 7 Stabilization Funds. <br />A short discussion was held and we voted 8-0 in favor of <br />the Article. <br /> <br />Article 8. <br />We voted 7-0 in favor of this Article. <br /> <br />Report. <br />We are targeting distribution of the report on November 13 and will plan to vote <br />th <br />to approve the report on the 17. <br /> <br />Health Insurance. <br />Deborah mentioned that the committee set up by Town Manager Carl <br />Valente to study health insurance issues had met last evening and she presented a memo <br /> <br />from Mike Kennealy and herself to the group. <br /> 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
