<br />the Bruce Freeman Bikeway are seeking signers of a petition asking the <br />Commonwealth to fund Phase two. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:07 pm. <br /> <br />Record of Discussion of the Friends of Lexington Bikeways: <br /> <br />Treasury: <br /> $5,274.67. Peggy contacted The Running Company for their <br />donation for the 5K race. Shire has not released the money yet. <br /> <br />Mass Ave. Safety Report. <br /> A 25% study recommends signals at Mass. Ave and <br />Marrett, Maple, and Pleasant. A major part of the engineering takes place <br />between the 25% and 75% stage therefore it is important for us to continue <br />attending hearings to insure inclusion of cyclists and pedestrians in the report. <br />The accident rate in this section of Mass. Ave. is far above the average. At the <br />present time parking is allowed on Mass Ave. between Marrett and Locust <br />streets. We will discuss recommending no parking in this section at our October <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Snow Plowing: <br />We plan to use John DeNapoli this coming winter to plow the <br />bike path. We need to find a second snow plower for back up. <br /> <br />Conservation Stewards: <br />Most of this summers ambitious boardwalk and trail <br />construction has been completed. We hope to finish Hayden Woods on <br />Saturday. The trail workers appreciation barbeque is this Saturday at 12:30. <br /> <br />Bikeway Count: <br />Stew organized the count and will email a final list of counters <br /> <br />and hours tomorrow. <br /> <br />Miscellaneous Announcements: <br />.
