Crain. <br /> MOTION: That the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be <br /> authorized to issue Highway Reimbursement Notes of the Town under <br /> G.L. c. 44, sec. 6, as amended, in anticipation of reimbursement <br /> by the Commonwealth for highway reconstruction and improvements <br /> under the authority of Chapter 90 of the General Laws as funded by <br /> Chapter 480 of the Acts of 1979, Chapter 351 of the Acts of 1981, <br /> and Chapter 191 of the Acts of 1982 and that notes issued for a <br /> shorter period than two years may be refunded by the issue of new <br /> notes maturing within two years from the date of the original <br /> obligation; and that the Selectmen are authorized to accept high- <br /> way funds from all sources. <br /> 10:12 P.M. <br /> Mr. Crain showed a slide listing the streets to be resurfaced: <br /> Waltham Street, Shade Street, Pelham Road, Battle Green Road, <br /> Reed Street, Minute Man Lane, Winchester Drive and Follen Road. <br /> 10:14 P.M. <br /> Nyles Nathan Barnert; Chairman of the Capital Expenditures Committee <br /> and William J. Dailey, Jr., Chairman of the Appropriation voiced <br /> the support of their respective committee. 10:15 P.M. <br /> Motion as presented by Mr. Crain declared adopted unanimously. <br /> 10:15 P.M. <br /> Article 34. INSTALL CURBING <br /> Presented by James F. Crain. <br /> MOTION: That this article be indefinitely postponed. <br /> Adopted unanimously. 10:15 P.M. <br /> Article 35. CONSTRUCT SIDEWALKS <br /> Presented by James F. Crain. <br /> MOTION: That this article be indefinitely postponed. <br /> 10:16 P.M. <br /> Frank Sandy, speaking against indefinite postponement, felt that it <br /> was time for the town to get back to construction of sidewalks, <br /> mentioning Burlington Street as one street in dire need. <br /> 10:17 P.M. <br /> Mr. Crain stated that although the Selectmen would like to be able <br /> to go on with sidewalk construction, with the restraints of "2i" <br /> sidewalks are of a lower. priority. He added that he thought it was <br /> only fair to alert the meeting to the fact that next year will be a <br /> tougher year than this year. 10:18 P.M. <br /> Motion for indefinite postponement was declared adopted by voice <br /> vote. 10:18 P.M. <br /> Article 36. PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT <br /> Presented by Robert F. Sacco. <br /> (As MOTION: That the sum of $150,000 be appropriated for the purchase <br /> adopted) by or with the approval of the Selectmen of equipment for the De- <br /> partment of Public Works, and that such amount be raised in the <br /> tax levy. 10:19 P.M. <br />
