b 4 ADJOURNED SESSION OF THE 1983 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br /> MAY 4, 1983 <br /> The meeting was called to order in Cary Memorial Hall at 8 P.M. by the <br /> Moderator, Lincoln P. Cole, Jr. and was immediately recessed subject to the <br /> call of the Chair. The meeting reconvened. at 8:13 P.M. <br /> There were 184 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> In the absence of the clergyman, Rev. Harvey Meppelink of the Assemblies <br /> of God Christian Center, the Moderator offered the invocation. 8:13 P.M. <br /> The Moderator called a formal recess at 8:14 P.M. in order that honors <br /> could be paid to the championship Precision Skaters from the Hayden Center. <br /> The following were introduced, brought to the front of the hall and given <br /> a standing ovation: <br /> Shirley Holdsworth, member and coach of the EIS FRAUS <br /> Laura Lowder, captain of the HAYDENETTES <br /> Dani Patkin, captain of the ICE MATES <br /> and the coaches of the HAYDENETTES and THE ICE MATES - Lynn Benson and <br /> Joyce Winship. <br /> 8:17 P.M. <br /> Robert F. Sacco read the Selectmen's Proclamation which proclaimed May 4 <br /> as Precision Skating Day. 8:19 P.M. <br /> Stephen W. Doran presented a. resolution from the House of Representatives <br /> honoring the championship skaters. 8:20 P.M. <br /> Article 2. James F. Crain, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, gave the <br /> following sequence of action on the articles: <br /> Financial articles: 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 27. <br /> Public Works articles: 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, <br /> 39, 40 and 41. <br /> Other financial articles: 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50 <br /> and 51. <br /> Articles 9, 7, 8, 11, 15 and close on Article 52. <br /> 8:25 P.M. <br /> Richard M. Perry moved that the Town of Lexington Contributory <br /> Retirement System Actuarial Report be accepted and placed on file. <br /> 8:25 P.M. <br /> Barry M. Gilman, an Enrolled Actuary and a Lexington resident, was <br /> recognized and, as the individual that prepared the actuarial <br /> valuation of the pension liabilities, gave a short explanation of <br /> the report. 8 :27 P.M. <br /> The report as presented by Mr. Perry was unanimously accepted and <br /> placed on file. 8:29 P.M. <br /> Stephen Michael Politi moved that Article 8 be taken from the table.
