Motion under Article 4 - Line Item, as amended, now reads: <br /> (Cont.) <br /> Board of Retirement <br /> #7810 Pension Funding $ 300,000 <br /> (AS The Town Meeting requests that the Board of <br /> adopted) Selectmen, in cooperation with the Retirement <br /> Board, report to the 1983 Annual Town Meeting <br /> the long range plan for funding pension liability, <br /> and in particular, present estimated appropria- <br /> tions for the next five years. <br /> Adopted unanimously.. 10:12 P.M. <br /> Article 48. BY -LAWS REVISIONS <br /> Presented by Stephen Michael Politi. <br /> (See MOTION: That the General By -Laws of the Town be amended in <br /> Pages accordance with the report and recommendations of the By -I.aw <br /> 116- Committee as filed with the Town Clerk, except that Section 2 of <br /> 133. Article XIX and Section 25 of Article XXV shall not be amended. <br /> 10:13 P.M. <br /> Adopted <br /> motion - Mr. Politi said that there were two recommendations of the By -Law <br /> Pages Committee that have not been approved by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> 128- One is the Use of the Battle Green and the other is the Civil <br /> 133.) Defense article. The feeling of the board is that both sections <br /> should remain as they now stand. In the case of an emergency, the <br /> Town Manager would appoint himself as Civil Defense Director and <br /> therefore would be approving actions performed by himself. It <br /> was felt that approval should be by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> 10:20 P.M. <br /> At Mr. Politi's request, Paul Newman, Chairman of the By -Law <br /> Committee, was recognized. Mr. Newman stated that the report was <br /> given unanimous approval of the By -Law Committee and he started to <br /> comment on each section of the report. 10:22 P.M. <br /> Arthur C. Smith asked if the motion was subject to division in order <br /> that each section could be discussed separately and the Moderator <br /> answered in the affirmative. 10:24 P.M. <br /> Due to the complexity of the article and the lateness of the hour, <br /> J.
