(Adj Se ssion of the 1982 Annual Town Meeting - April 14, 1982.) <br /> Article 36. STUDY MONEY FOR LINCOLN STREET <br /> PLAY AREA AND WORTHEN ROAD <br /> Presented by Carolyn C. Wilson. <br /> (Not MOTION: That the sum of $5,000.00 be appropriated for test borings <br /> adopted) and a soil study for the Lincoln Street play area and Worthen Road <br /> soccer field as determined by the Recreation Committee with the <br /> approval of the Board of Selectmen, and that such amount be raised <br /> in the tax levy. 9:20 P.M. <br /> George A. Burnell served notice of reconsideration of Article 35. 9 :21 P.M. <br /> Article 36. At the request of Mrs. Wilson, Clifford Prentiss, Director of <br /> (Cont.) Conservation /Recreation, was recognized and showed slides and gave <br /> an explanation of the motion. 9:25 P.M. <br /> Stephen Michael Politi stated that the Board of Selectmen recommended <br /> unfavorable action on this motion. 9:26 P.M. <br /> James E. Barry questioned the validity of the test borings and asked <br /> if the Town Engineer or any soil engineer at the meeting could answer <br /> his question. 9:34 P.M. <br /> Selectman Alfred S. Busa stated that the town did not employ a soil <br /> engineer. 9:34 P.M. <br /> Richard W. Souza, a Town Meeting Member who is also an engineer, <br /> stated. that he felt that the test borings would be a waste of money. <br /> 9:36 P.M. <br /> Motion, as presented by Mrs. Wilson, was declared lost by voice vote. <br /> 9:37 P.M. <br /> Article 2. Georgia S. Glick questioned Alfred S. Busa, Chairman of the Board of <br /> Selectmen, regarding his statement in reference to the neighborhood <br /> meeting with the Muzzey School Conversion Committee next Wednesday, <br /> April 21, 1982. She felt that it was very short notice, was very <br /> concerned because it was school vacation week and many residents <br /> had made plans to be out of town and also wondered if the individuals <br /> involved would be notified and if so, in what form. 9:37 P.M. <br /> Mr. Busa answered that the time element was an important factor in <br /> setting the date of the meeting and that the Lexington Minute -man <br /> had been notified of the date and also that notices would be sent <br /> out this Friday. He added that the Planning Board would also be <br /> holding a public meeting in the near future. 9:38 P.M. <br /> Article 37. UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION FUND <br /> Presented by Stephen Michael Politi. <br /> MOTION: That the sum of $25,000 be appropriated for the unemploy- <br /> ment compensation fund to be used. in conjunction with money <br /> previously appropriated for this purpose, and that such amount be <br /> raised in the tax levy. <br /> Adopted unanimously. 9:43 P.M. <br /> Article 38. TRAFFIC STUDY, LEXINGTON CENTER <br /> Presented by Margery M.
