Smith spoke for the majority of the Planning Board <br /> (Cont.) supporting the main motion as a good use for the site. <br /> 9:35 P.M. <br /> William J. Dailey, Jr. spoke for the Appropriation Committee in <br /> support of Mr. Doran's motion to amend. 9:40 P.M. <br /> John F. Downey, Jr. asked for the report of the Conservation <br /> Commission on this article to be given under Article 2. <br /> 9 :40 P.M. <br /> Article 2. Angela E. Frick informed the meeting that the Conservation Commiss- <br /> ion is opposed to any further pavement in this area (School Admini- <br /> stration Building Lot). She added that the commission had written <br /> to the Board of Selectmen in regards to this matter but had not <br /> received an answer. 9:42 P.M. <br /> Article 19. Motion to amend, as offered by Guy W. Doran, was declared adopted <br /> (Cont.) by voice vote. 9:42 P.M. <br /> William J. Dailey, Jr. moved to amend the motion under Article 19 <br /> by deleting the amount of $15,000 and substituting the figure of <br /> $11,000. 9 :42 Y.M. <br /> Mrs. Battin stated that if the $4,000 was left in the appropriation <br /> that it would be used to drain and pave the parking area on Meriam <br /> Street where needed. Also, a small amount would be used on the <br /> other parking lots. Mrs. Battin said that she opposed the amendment <br /> as offered by Mr. Dailey, Chairman of the Appropriation Committee. <br /> 9:45 P.M. <br /> Richard A. Michelson voiced his disagreement with Mr. Da.iley's <br /> amendment. 9:47 P.M. <br /> Mrs. Battin said that there would be no reconstruction or extension <br /> of the Meriam Street lot, it is to improve the parking lot only. <br /> 9:52 P.M. <br /> Mr. Dailey's motion to amend was declared lost by voice vote. <br /> 9:52 P.M. <br /> Main motion as amended now reads: <br /> (As MOTION: That the sum of $15,000 be appropriated for parking <br /> adopted) improvements in the Town, and to raise such amount $15,000 be <br /> transferred from the Parking Permit Fund provided that none of the <br /> funds appropriated hereunder shall be expended to expand the school <br /> administration parking lot_ <br /> Main motion as amended declared adopted unanimously. 9:53 P.M. <br /> Article 20. STREET ACCEPTANCE AND <br /> Presented by Robert F. Sacco. CONSTRUCTION <br /> MOTION: (a) To establish as a town way and accept the layout of as a <br /> town way Center Street from Reed Street to Avon Street a distance of <br /> 370 feet, more or less, as laid out by the Selectmen and shown upon <br /> a plan on file in the office of the Town Clerk, dated February 19, <br /> 1982, and to authorize the Selectmen to take by eminent domain, pur- <br /> chase or otherwise acquire any fee, easement or other interest in <br /> land necessary therefor. <br /> (b) To establish as a town way and accept the layout of as a town <br /> way Outlook Drive from Middleby Road a distance of 400 feet, more or <br /> less, as laid out by the Selectmen and shown upon a plan on file in <br /> the office of the Town Clerk, dated February 19, 1982, and to author- <br /> ize the Selectmen to take by eminent domain, purchase or otherwise <br /> acquire any fee, easement or other interest in land necessary therefor; <br />
