12 <br /> (Adjourned Session - 1987 Annual Town Meeting - April 8, 1987, cont.) <br /> Eugene Lee, Pr.5, stated that this is a bird in the hand. <br /> 10:39 p.m. <br /> Sheldon Spector, Capital Expenditures, spoke against. <br /> 10:42 p.m. <br /> There was discussion as to the possibility of screening with trees <br /> if the land were to be developed. 10:44 p.m. <br /> On the question of Marshall Derby, Mr. Eddison stated that he had <br /> "heard" of the sale, that there would be a 5 or 10% reduction.10:45 p.m. <br /> Erna Greene, Pr.3, asked how much money is in the Conservation <br /> Fund. Mr. Williams replied $37,000 at this moment and $25,000 for this <br /> year. 10:46 p.m. <br /> In response to Julian Bussgang, Mr. Williams stated that the price <br /> is consistent with the opinion of value. Mr. Bussgang stated that the <br /> land is worth the money and that the most significant parcels are those <br /> seen from the main arteries. 10:51 p.m. <br /> Judith Uhrig, Planning Board Chairman, voiced support. 10:52 p.m. <br /> Paul Marshall, Selectman, stated that the Conservation Fund is to <br /> handle smll pieces as they come up. 10:54 p.m. <br /> Dan Fenn, Jr., Pr.4, and Ephraim Weiss, Pr.5, spoke in favor. Mr. <br /> Weiss stated that Town Meeting had had the widsom to overrule the <br /> Selectmen and the Appropriations Committee on several other Conservation <br /> Parcels. 10:58 p.m. <br /> The Moderator not having tallied a unanimous voice vote, called for <br /> a Standing Vote. 10:58 p.m. <br /> The clerks reported the vote as follows: <br /> Precincts Yes No <br /> 1 11 2 1 abstention <br /> 2 13 3 <br /> 3 13 5 <br /> 4 16 2. <br /> 5 12 4 <br /> 6 13 3 <br /> 7 11 3 <br /> 8 10 4 <br /> 9 12 3 <br /> At large 14 9 <br /> Totals 125 38 <br /> The Moderator declared the motion presented by Mr. Williams to have <br /> carried, 2/3rds of those present and voting having voted in the <br /> affirmative. 11:03 p.m. <br /> Sam Silverman, Pr.5, served Notice of Reconsideration. 11:03 p.m. <br /> John Eddison moved that the Meeting be adjourned until Wednesday, <br /> April 15, at 8 p.m. <br /> The Moderator declared the meeting adjourned. 11:04 p.m. <br /> A true copy. <br /> Attest: 400 <br /> Bernice H. allick, Town Clerk <br />
