Mr. Weiss asked if it <br /> would not be more economical to uses hoses. 8:27 p.m. <br /> James McLaughlin, Precinct 8, voiced support of the fans in order to <br /> pull exhaust out quickly. 8:29 p.m. <br /> Sam Nablo, Precinct 6, urged support stating that diesel exhaust <br /> gives off nitrous oxide. 8:30 p.m. <br /> Frank Sandy, Precinct 6, asked why not use pipes in the warmup <br /> area. Mr. McSweeney stated that because of the configuration, fans wuld <br /> be best. 8:31 p.m. <br /> William Spencer, Precinct 6, asked how the heating cost would be <br /> affected and was told that this area is not heated. 8:31 p.m. <br /> Nathan Becker, Precinct 1, asked if the size of the fans had been <br /> determined. Mr. McSweeney stated that twelve 36" updraft fans would be <br /> used and posed no danger to the neighborhood. 8:32 p.m. <br /> The Moderator declared the motion carried. 8:33 p.m. <br /> ARTICLE 29. MUNROE SCHOOL REROOFING <br /> MOTION: That the sum of $40,000 be appropriated for the purpose <br /> of making extraordinary repairs to the Munroe School building, (passed- <br /> see below) <br /> and that such amount be raised in the tax levy. <br /> Presented by Leo McSweeney, Selectman. 8:33 p.m. <br /> The roof has developed leaks. It is under lease but remains in the <br /> Town's inventory. Appropriations and Capital Expenditures Committees <br /> voiced support. 8:34 p.m. <br /> Marion Reilly, Precinct 3, asked if improvement costs are passed <br /> along via rental increases. Mr. McSweeney stated that modest increases <br /> are passed along as the new tenants have come in. The large jobs are in <br /> the Town's area. 8:36 p.m. <br /> Elaine Dratch, Precinct 5, stated that Share A Ride had put in <br /> $13,000 in improvements without passing along costs to the Town. <br /> 8:37 p.m. <br /> Louis LeBlanc, Precinct 9, said that repairs should be made now to <br /> avoid more extensive costs later. <br /> The Moderator declared a unanimous vote. 8:38 p.m. <br /> ARTICLE 30. FIRE ENGINE AND BUCKET TRUCK CHASSIS <br /> MOTION: That the sum of $198,000 be appropriated to purchase a (passed- <br /> fire engine and bucket truck chassis for the Fire Department, see Page <br /> that such amount be raised in the tax levy, and that the 125) <br /> Selectmen be authorized to trade in or sell an existing fire <br /> engine and bucket truck chassis with the proceeds to be applied <br /> to the new equipment. <br /> Presented by William Dailey, Selectman. 8:38 p.m. <br /> Mr. Dailey explained the problems with current equipment. William <br /> Fraser, Precinct 5, questioned which equipment was located on which <br /> vehicle and Chief Bergeron responded. 8:42 p.m. <br />
