He said that he supported Lexpress but felt that the riders <br /> should pa 29% of the cost rather than 16%. This, of course, would <br /> mean there would probabl be fare increases. He su that <br /> possibl the Chamber of Commerce could help. 9:20 P.M. <br /> Fred D. Rosenber ur defeat of the amendment.and Daniel A. Lucas <br /> ur support. 9:23 P.M. <br /> James M. McLau said that cuttin services would be like a kiss of <br /> death. McSweene spoke in opposition to the main motion. <br /> He said that he has seen Lexpress g o b his house on Shade Street <br /> man times with no more than two riders. He said that he wants to <br /> amend the motion to $81,000 to be spent for the elderl 9:30 P.M. <br /> Ephraim Weiss had a point of order. He said that the amendment <br /> should be made before the maker spoke but the Moderator said <br /> that it was perfectl le to speak on a complicated amendment <br /> before it was presented. 9:30 P.M. <br /> Mr. McSweene went on to sa that there had not been an MBTA subsid <br /> in 1982 or 1983 and that this could happen a He did sa that <br /> the MBTA did a g ood j ob cover the town with bus routes. His <br /> su for service is a Dial-A-Ride Cab Service for the senior <br /> citizens and the mentall and/or ph handicapped. The could <br /> call for an appointment and this would onl cost the town $81,000. <br /> 9:37 P.M. <br /> (Amend. O'Sullivan said that the Appropriation Committee believes <br /> in a compromise and would support Option #3 of the Transportation <br /> Advisor Committee (reduce the ei routes to six). The feel that <br /> this would be cost effective. 9:54 P.M. <br /> (Amend. Mr. O'Sullivan (Michael J.) moved that the sum of 174,500 dollars <br /> Lost) be substituted for 246,500 to enable operation of Lexpress under <br /> option 3 of the Transportation Advisor Committee. 9:55 P.M. <br /> Robert H.
