Whereas: the services af the Public Works Department in Lexington are an integral part of
the everyday lives af all of its citizens; and
Whereas: the support of the citizens af Lexington is vital to the efficient aperation of public
works systerns and pragrarns such as water, sewers, streets and highways,public
buildings, and solid waste collection and disposal; and
Wher�eas: the health, safety and comfart of the citizens af Lexingtan greatiy depends on its
public works services; and
Wriereas: the quality and effectiveness of these facilities,as well as their planning, design,
and construction, is vitally dependent upon the efforts and skill of public works
employees; and
Whereas: the efficiency of the qualifted and dedicated employees in the public works
department is materially influenced by the knowledge that their work is
appreciated.
NOW, THEREFQRE, tVE, THE SELECT BOARD of the Town of Lexington, Massachusetts,do
hereby proclaim the week of May 16 to 22, 2021 as
National Public Works Weel�
in the Town of Lexington and call upon all citizens to join us in recagnizing the ernployees of the
Lexington Public Warks Department.
