LEXINGTON BOARD OF HEALTH
MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, October 21, 2020
6:00 P.M.
Conducted by Remote Participation
Board of Health Members in Attendance:
Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, Burt Perlmutter, M.D., John J. Flynn, Susan Wolf-Fordham, J.D.
Office of Public Health Attendees:
Casey Mellon, Acting Public Health Director
Sharon Coffey, Department Assistant
Alicia , Public Health Staff
Speakers:
Melissa Battite, Director of Recreation
Michael Cronin, Director of Facilities
Koren Stembridge, Director of Library
Documents:
Community Health Report
Environmental Health Report
Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
Agenda item number 1.
Michael Cronin, Director of Public Facilities, met with the BOH to discuss the town building
relating to industrial hygiene and COVID-10. They were contracted to ensure all equipment is
performing to manufacture specifications. They generated a list of equipment not operating and
not operating like it is supposed to. They put in a work order and repair the pieces of equipment
and dial back. There were 71 items for the schools and around 50 items for the Town buildings.
The color scheme is green, red and yellow. Green means its fixed, yellow means it is in the
process of being fixed and red means it needs to be fixed immediately. They will verify there are
three air changes per hour, the code requires something different for the Town buildings but they
are keeping it all consistent.
John Flynn asked about the enrichment program in Cary Hall.
Michael stated they are working to see which spaces will be used for the program and those
spaces will have three air changes per hour. The system is simple and the size of the group in a
space does not matter to the three air changes per hour. They do not get a report until the very
end. They do not have a final report for the School buildings yet.
BOH requested the final report be shared with them.
The concern for how they will handle the rooms in Cary Hall that cannot support the three air
changes was raised.
