LEXINGTON BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> Tuesday,April 15, 2020 <br /> 7:00 P.M. <br /> Conducted by Remote Participation <br /> Board of Health Members in Attendance: <br /> Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, Burt Perlmutter, M.D., John J. Flynn, David Geller, M.D. <br /> Office of Public Health Attendees: <br /> Kari Sasportas, Public Health Director <br /> David Neylon, Public Health Nurse <br /> Francis Dagle, Public Health Assistant <br /> Documents: <br /> John J. Flynn, called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. <br /> The board reviewed the Community Health Report; <br /> Wendy Heiger-Bernays, PhD, discussed the epidemiology of COVID-19. The Chair <br /> presented informational documents about the virus from the point of incubation through <br /> the stage of individuals being symptomatic. The Office of Public Health has been <br /> recording the amount of cases of COVID-19, and staff has been contact tracing each case <br /> presented within the town. The Lexington Board of Health is updating the Town of <br /> Lexington website on a daily basis to provide information on the virus and inform the <br /> public during the pandemic. <br /> David Neylon, Public Health Nurse, provided the BOH with the procedure for case <br /> notification, case follow-up, and contact tracing. Reporting and follow-up is conducted <br /> daily by the Public Health Nurse. The Public Health Office is working with the <br /> Massachusetts Department of Public Health in a coordinated effort to ensure accurate <br /> reporting within the state. <br /> Environmental Health report was reviewed, and the following cases were discussed; <br /> On March 26, 2020 The Lexington Board of Health issued an order to suspend routine <br /> operations and permitting. This included annual permits. The BOH Chair discussed how <br /> this suspension is necessary in order to focus on and provide all capacity to COVID-19. <br /> Select Board Member, Doug Lucente, thanked the BOH and Public Health staff for its <br /> efforts during COVID-19. <br /> Burt Perlmutter, M.D., motioned that the meeting be adjourned and John J. Flynn, <br /> seconded. All were in favor. The meeting adjourned at 8:17 PM. <br /> It was noted that the next meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. <br />
