The meeting convened at 7:30PM Historical Commission Members in Attendance: Marilyn Fenollosa, Chair, David Kelland, Wendall Kalsow, Marilyn Fenollosa, Diane Pursley, Susan Bennett, Robert Rotberg AGENDA ITEM #1 (7:33 PM) Vote to add Pleasant Brook Neighborhood homes into Comprehensive Cultural Resources Survey ABUTTER(S) PRESENT: James Lowell Frankel, 29 Mason Street Eugenia Shraiman, 24 Mason Street Alvaro Amorrortu, 9 White Pine Lane Donna Heuchling, 22 Mason Street Timothy Duggan, 14 White Pine Lane John Sackton, 8 White Pine Lane Van Duinen France, 10 White Pine Lane DOCUMENT(S): Pleasant Brook Area Form Power Point Presentation by James Lowell Frankel SUMMARY: Ms. Fenollosa went over a brief summary of the Pleasant Brook Neighborhood. HC COMMENTS: Mr. Kalsow complimented the study and is very supportive of listing the properties in the inventory. Ms. Pursley thanked Mr., Daggett for all his hard work and research. The Commission agreed. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Mr. Frankel lives in the Pleasant Brook Neighborhood and gave a presentation discussing procedures around the Pleasant Brook Neighborhood, the definition of Demolition and concerns regarding Pleasant Brook being added to the Inventory. He gave suggestions on how the neighborhood could be protected without being added into the Inventory. Ms. Fenollosa addressed Mr. Frankel's concerns. Some of the neighbors in Pleasant Brook also expressed their concerns regarding being added into the Inventory. Other neighbors expressed their support for adding the homes into the Inventory. Mr. Daggett went over the timeline and development of the Pleasant Brook Neighborhood. MOTION: Moved by Ms. Pursley to find Pleasant Brook Neighborhood meets the architectural and/or historical significance criteria to be placed on the Lexington Comprehensive Cultural Resources Survey. Seconded by Mr. Kalsow. VOTE: 6-0 In favor of adding Pleasant Brook Neighborhood to the Comprehensive Cultural Resources Survey: Ms. Pursley Mr. Kalsow, Mr. Kelland, Ms. Fenollosa, Ms. Bennett, and Mr. Rotberg AGENDA ITEM #2 (8:40 PM) Updates Ms. Fenollosa went over updates regarding the MHC grant. Ms. Fenollosa heard back from MHC that the National Park Service has agreed to extend the deadline for completion of the Inventory project for another fiscal year. Also, MHC said we could have a much reduced scope of a project. Ms. Fenollosa also identified a consultant that could be a good fit for this project. The Commission was happy with this outcome and agreed to request the extension from MHC and invite the consultant, Neil Larson, to the next Historical Commission meeting. A motion was made by Mr. Rotberg to go to MHC and ask for the extension. Seconded by Ms. Bennett 6-0 in favor: Ms. Pursley Mr. Kalsow, Mr. Kelland, Ms. Fenollosa, Ms. Bennett, and Mr. Rotberg AGENDA ITEM #3 (8:56 PM) Vote to accept meeting minutes dated May 20, 2020 A motion made by Mr. Kelland to approve the minutes dated May 201h 2020. Seconded by Mr. Kalsow 6-0 in Favor: Ms. Pursley Mr. Kalsow, Mr. Kelland, Ms. Fenollosa, Ms. Bennett, and Mr. Rotberg AGENDA ITEM #4 (8:58 PM) Motion to adjourn made by Mr. Kalsow.
