<br />Selectmen’s Meeting <br />November 4, 2019 <br />A meeting of the Lexington Board of Selectmen was called to order at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, <br />November 4, 2019 in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room, Town Office Building. Mr. Lucente, Chair; <br />Mr. Pato; Ms. Barry, Ms. Hai and Mr. Sandeen were present, as well as Mr. Malloy, Town <br />Manager; Ms. Axtell, Deputy Town Manager; and Ms. Katzenback, Executive Clerk. <br />Ms. Barry recused herself from the Executive Session Exemption 3: Collective Bargaining Update: <br />DPW Union discussion as her husband is an employee of the Town. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Selectmen voted 5-0 to go into Executive <br />Session under Exemption 3: Collective Bargaining Update: DPW Union; Exemption 6: Purchase, <br />Sale, Lease of Real Estate - Historical Society Parking Parcel - Edison Way; Exemption 6: <br />Purchase, Sale, Lease of Real Estate - Lease for Munroe Center for the Arts; and Exemption 4: <br />Strategy with Respect to Security - Cyber Security Insurance with the intent to reconvene in Open <br />Session. Further, it was declared that an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the <br />negotiating position of the Town. <br />Upon exiting the Executive Session, the Board returned to Open Session at 7:27 p.m. <br />SELECTMAN CONCERNS AND LIAISON REPORTS <br />Ms. Hai stated that the Lexington Human Rights Committee will be recognizing “No Hate <br />November” this month. On Monday, November 18, 2019, there will be a panel discussion on the <br />impact of hate and how to combat it at Cary Memorial Library. <br />Mr. Lucente stated that he, Mr. Pato, Ms. Barry, and Mr. Sandeen attended the Veterans Breakfast <br />on Saturday, November 2, 2019. He thanked the Town Celebrations Committee and the Rotary <br />Club for organizing the event. <br />Mr. Lucente stated that all five members of the Board, along with Mr. Malloy, attended a ribbon <br />cutting ceremony for the newly completed Lexington Children’s Place. <br />Mr. Lucente also stated that on Thursday, November 7, 2019, a report from UMass Boston on the <br />findings of the Age-Friendly Needs Assessment will be available at the Lexington Community <br />Center. <br />Ms. Barry stated that there will be a Veterans Day parade on Monday, November 11, 2019 starting <br />at 10:00 a.m. at the Hosmer House. The parade will conclude at the Cary Memorial Building with <br />a ceremony in Battin Hall at 11:00 a.m. <br />Mr. Sandeen stated that he will be presenting the Board’s letter to the Board of Building <br />Regulations and Standards (BBRS) on the importance of establishing a net zero energy code. <br />TOWN MANAGER REPORT <br /> <br />
