Meeting was called to order at 7:35 AM
Attending: Gerry Paul (Chair), Nancy Sofen, Gloria Bloom, Jim Wood, Pat Moyer, and Mark Sandeen
(Selectmen liaison);Absent: Chris Filadoro (Tree Warden), Mark Connor
1. Gerry Paul was appointed scribe and minutes from January 9 were accepted as amended.
Tree Warden Items
2. and 3. The Tree Warden was unable to attend.
We had a good discussion about the need for data and the need to explain why the data is valuable
and ultimately benefits the Town.
4. Tree Canopy Assessment -The program improvement request for the 2021 Town Meeting was not
included in the Town Manager's recommendation. Dave Pinsonneault indicated that he will help us
identify alternate funding. Separately we will investigate applying for a MVP resilience grant from the
State for a full Urban Tree Canopy Master Plan.
5. Tree Management Manual - Nancy distributed a new section relating to Tree Issues With Neighbors.
The Committee approved the addition.
6. New member search: Nancy will contact a possible candidate;
7. 2020 Priorities. We agreed to focus on the following priorities:
• Tree Canopy Assessment - Nancy and Jim will work with Chris to identify and meet with
potential vendors, understand capabilities and define deliverables.
• Public Outreach (Traditional) - Pat will lead this effort working with Gloria
• Public Outreach (Social Media) - Gerry will lead this effort with help from Mark (who was
volunteered in absentia).
