<br /> <br />Board of Selectmen Goal Setting Retreat <br />Monday, July 29, 2019 <br /> <br />A meeting of the Lexington Board of Selectmen was called to order at 9:03 a.m. on Monday, <br />July 29, 2019 at the Element Hotel Meeting Room, 727 Marrett Road. Mr. Lucente, Chair; Mr. <br />Pato; Ms. Barry; Ms. Hai; and Mr. Sandeen were present as well as Mr. Malloy, Town Manager; <br />Ms. Axtell, Assistant Town Manager; Julia Novak, Novak Consulting Group and Ms. <br />Katzenback, Executive Clerk. <br /> <br />The Board of Selectmen met with the Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager, and staff from <br />the Board of Selectmen’s office to participate in a goal-setting exercise. Julia Novak, The Novak <br />Consulting Group, facilitated the meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Novak reviewed the agenda and meeting norms, then invited each person to share an <br />expectation that they had for the day. <br />The Board of Selectmen considered the input from their Boards and Committees and a “straw <br />man” framework provided by the facilitator and ultimately created a framework to use in <br />establishing priorities for Lexington to be a visionary and sustainable community. The Board of <br />Selectmen identified five areas of focus as the framework: 1) Livability for ALL Ages and Stages; <br />2) Thriving Local Economy; 3) Town-Wide Fiscal Stewardship; 4) Quality Infrastructure, <br />Amenities, and Municipal Services; 5) Community Character. <br />The Board identified Municipal priorities within the framework putting them into three categories: <br />Top, High, and Other. At the culmination of the meeting, the Board agreed the next step for goal <br />setting is to discuss these priorities further with the Town Manager in order to move towards the <br />development of a list of important projects and initiatives to be implemented over the next twelve <br />to twenty four months. <br />ADJOURN <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Selectmen voted 5 - 0 to adjourn at 3:25 p.m. <br /> <br />A true record; Attest: <br />Kim Katzenback <br />Executive Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
