HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-01-09-YC-min Town of Lexington Lexington Youth Commission Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, January 9th, 2020 Members Present: Debbie Hankins, Shannon DeGuglielmo, Kristina Hankins, Tom Romano, Alessia Caira, Anthony Mabardy, Serena Caira, Annabel Cincotta, Katie Devine, Hobie Swan, Oliver DiCerbo, Matthew Favazzo, Marina Chen, Ella Lucente, Madelyn Lucente, Peyton Campbell, Karen Duperey, Ella Thomas, Becca Wilkinson, Andrew Lawrence, Carolyn Lane, Mehr Khurana, Neeka Pirooz, Elena Sabin, Shea Freda, Sophia Lupone, Kennice Brennan, Emily Rosenthal, Avery Cutler, Camelia Atassi, Max DiCerbo, Summer Spencer, Skylar Spencer, Charles Mabardy, Isabella Barrett, Ipek Kendreioglu, Regina Tashjian Members Absent: Sandy Raman, Jack Maloney, Jim Athens, Marilyn Swinger, Ava Barrentine, Myles Cutler, Joe Hankins, We discussed our Cradles to Crayons event which is on Martin Luther King Day on Monday, January 20th. We will be leaving from C&W Bus Station at 9 am and our session is from 10-11 am. We will go to lunch afterwards and arrive back to C&W around 2:00 pm. The following said they could come: Emily, Marilyn, Jack, Andrew, Matthew, Kennice, Neeka, Carolyn, Serena, Elena, Ella L, Skylar, Ella T, Myles, Sophia, Camelia, Ipek, Annabel, Katie, Sandy, Shea, Ava, Payton, Summer, Avery, Regina, Izi, Maddie, Anthony, Alessia. Bold denotes 18 year olds. We will donate whatever Cradles to Crayons is asking for. We debriefed our December holiday lunch. Members had a great time and enjoyed talking with the seniors. We spoke to Tom about organizing the tables better. Our Valentine's Day luncheon is on Tuesday, February 11th. We would leave school around 11:30 am and be back around 1 pm. Meet at the flagpole. The following said they would come: Hobie, Becca, Elena, Carolyn, Kennice, 011ie, Andrew, Skylar, Ipek, Sophia, Ella, Serena, Regina, Payton, Shea, Camelia, Maddie, Anthony, Alessia. We will take a bus there. Our Lions Eye Glasses Cleaning is on Thursday, March 12 in Commons 2 from 6-8 pm. It will replace our March meeting. We discussed the possibility of joining the Lion's Club for the Stop and Shop Food Drive Project. There will be more details to come. We spoke about recruiting new members for next year. We are mostly looking for incoming freshman. We will begin advertising in March. We heard from our Drive-In committee about the future drive-in. A google form was posted in the facebook group with possible movie choices that members should try to fill out. PG and PG- 13 movies are allowed. We are considering a friday night (May 29th?). We also would like to use sponsors for our event and encourage members to ask their parents or different companies.
