FOSTER, Constable of Lexington, GREETING : In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Lexington, qualified by law to vote in State, District, and County affairs, to assemble at the Town Hall, on Tuesday, the second day of November, A.D., 1897, at six o'clock, A.M., to cast their ballots, for the following State, District and County officers, viz. :— . Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, Secretary, Auditor, Treasurer and Receiver General, Attorney-General. Councillor for Sixth District. Senator for Fifth Middlesex District. Representative in the General Court for Thirteenth Middlesex Dist. County Commissioner for Middlesex County for three years, County Treasurer for Middlesex County for three years. Register of Deeds for Southern Middlesex District for three years. The election officers will receive votes for the above on the official ballot prepared by the Secretary of the Commonwealth. The polls will be opened immediately after the organization of the meeting and will be kept open until four o'clock, P. M., and as much longer as the meet- ing may direct, not to extend beyond sunset. Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, on or before the time of said meeting. At the above meeting the Selectmen request an informal expression of the voters as to whether or not a location of tracks of the Lexington Street Railroad shall be granted. The vote on the above question shall be by ballot, 11 Yes" or 11 No." The Registrars of Voters will be in session to receive applicants for registration at Village Hall, East Lexington, on THURSDAY, October 14, 1897, from 7.30 to 9 o'clock, P. M., and at Town Officer's Room, Town Hall Building, on SATURDAY, October 23, 1897, from r2, M., to io o'clock, P. M., at which time registration for the State Election will close.
