HomeMy WebLinkAbout2914 Warrant for Town Meeting of April 1, 1844 V a To, j1 , lil.;4[tT*l Constable, of the Tow,a�.o> V4 e LEXINGTON, - - - - Greeting; YOU are hereby requited, in the name of the Commonwealth of "MasshChtisetttts',kto notify a,d wwarn, ip manner and',form as prescribed by'the By-Laws of the Town, the qualieil Voters of the Town of Le'vgton to assemble at the Old Meeting House,I gf said Town, on Monday,the first day of April next,at 1 o'clock,P. M.,to give in their Votes for three County Commissioners and two Special Commis- sioners,for said County, and you are alike required to notify and warn the qualified Voters in said Town, to assemble at said House,on said day,at two o'clock,P. M.,to act on the following Articles,viz.: ART. 1. To choose a Moderator. ART. 2. To fill all vacancies in Town Offices. ART. 3. To choose a School Committee. ART. 4. To see if the Town will instruct the,Selectmen to lay out a road from the house of Charles Robinson, to the Countv road near Farm Meadow Brook,so called. ART. 5. To see if the Town will dispose of their two fire En- gines,and procure two Suction Engines, to be situated in each of the two Villages of the Town, or act otherwise on the article. ART. 6. To see if the Town will direct the Constable to have the Town's expenses for the last year printed. Also,the Reports of the Committee chosen to audit the accounts of the I Overseers of the Poor,' and the°Trustees of the Ministerial Fund,' in pamphlet form, to be distributed with the next warrant for a Town Meeting, or other- wise act on the articles. ART. 7. To see if the Town will adopt some plan to enforce the observance of their By-Laws at town meetings,or repeal the same. ART. 8. To see if the town will direct a suitable public notice of the approaching Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington,April 19th, 1775. ART. 9. To see if the Town will accept the List of Jurors sub- mitted by the Selectmen. ART. 10. To see if the Town will so alter the Centre Highway District, as to take from Concord Road District that portion from the Liberty-Pole to Vine Brook,and add the same to the East Village Dis- trict,or act otherwise relating to the same. ART. 11. To see if the Town will cause the two burying-grounds to be fenced in a suitable manner,or act otherwise thereon. ART. 12. To hear the reports of Committees,and act thereon. Hereof fail not,and make return of this Warrant with your doings thereon on or before the time prefixed. Given under our hands, at Lexington, this thirteenth day of March,A. D. 1844. P".ITIAA P.
