The Committee appointed at the March meeting to see what <br /> additional appurtenances and equipments, if any, are needed for <br /> the use of the Fire Dept. , also to consider the need of a steam <br /> gong or whistle for the use of the Fire Dept, and Schools) beg <br /> to recommend that the Town purchase a steam gong for announciig <br /> "No school" and for giving alarms of fire provided a suitable <br /> one can be bought and fitted at a cost not exceeding $50. 1and <br /> provided the Lexington Water Co, are willing to have said gong <br /> attached to the boilers of the pumping station and to blow it <br /> free of charge. <br /> In the matter of considering the needs of the Fire Dept. , <br /> the committee ask for further time, <br />
