60-218 <br />Selectmen's Meeting <br />August 28, 1995 j <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, August 18, 1995 in <br />the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office Building at 7:30 p.m. Chairman <br />McSweeney, Mr. Dailey, Mr. Busa, Mr. Fenn, Mrs. Eddison, Mr. White, Town Manager <br />and Ms. Smith, Executive Clerk were present. <br />Sidewalk at Entrance to Bridge School <br />Mr. McSweeney read a letter of thanks to James M. McLaughlin for the work that his <br />company did to provide a sidewalk at the entrance to Bridge School. <br />Battle Green Guide License - Kenneth M. Smith <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to issue a Battle Green Guide <br />License to Kenneth M. Smith of 44 Grant Street. <br />VFW Request for Monument to World War II Veterans <br />Mr. Dailey reviewed plans made at a meeting he had with representatives of the Design <br />Advisory Committee, Historic Districts Commission, Town Celebrations Committee, <br />Lexington Center Committee and Veterans of Foreign Wars concerning the appropriate <br />design and placement of a monument to honor all who served from Lexington during <br />World War II. The monument planned to be in place at the ceremonies marking the <br />end of the Second World War will be located at the site of the Visitors Center next to <br />the monuments of the U.S.S. Lexington. <br />Extension of Minuteman Bikeway as Commuter Bikeway along Hartwell Avenue <br />Many safety, design and cost issues were discussed concerning the connection of the <br />Minuteman Bikeway to provide for commuter biking from the Hartwell Avenue area. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to refer the request of the Bikeway <br />Committee and the Friends of the Bikeway Committee to the Traffic Safety Advisory <br />Committee for a recommendation. <br />Minutes of Meetings of July 31, 1995 and August 14, 1995 <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the minutes of the <br />meetings of July 31, 1995, August 14, 1995 and the Goal Setting Minutes of August 14, <br />1995. <br />
