<br />3. Observations: Observe and note any emotional outbursts, inflections of
<br />the voice and nervous reactions that may indicate areas requiring further
<br />probing or clarification.
<br />
<br />4. Terminating the Interview: Interviews should be ended in a courteous
<br />manner. It may be necessary in the future to conduct a second or
<br />subsequent interview therefore ending the first interview in good standing
<br />is important.
<br />
<br />5. Documenting the Interview
<br />
<br />The circumstances surrounding the conduct of interrogations and
<br />recording of confessions shall be fully documented. This includes:
<br />
<br />a. Location, date, time of day and duration of interview;
<br />b. Identities of officers or others present;
<br />c. Miranda warnings given, suspect responses and waivers provided, if
<br />any; and
<br />d. The nature and duration of breaks in questioning to provide the
<br />suspect food, drink, use of the restroom, or for other purposes.
