<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />September 17, 2018 <br />4:30 p.m., Dawes Room, Town Offices <br /> <br /> <br />Present: Doug Lucente, Chair; Suzie Barry; Norman Cohen, Edmund Grant, Paul Shupe, Alan <br />Wrigley and Charlotte Rogers, Director of Human Services; Tony Serio, Assistant Director of <br />Family and Youth Services and Kim Katzenback, Executive Clerk to the Board of Selectmen. <br /> <br />1. Money Available as of 05/31/18 Income $ 3,931.66 <br /> Principal $310,129.18 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Human Services Report: June 1, 2018 to August 31, 2018 <br />Charlotte Rodgers reviewed the activity for the period. A brief overview of the Funds <br />that are used by the Human Services Department was given. During the reporting <br />period $2,109.23 was dispersed from the Human Services Emergency Fund for <br />emergencies. The Recreation Scholarships have been a great success assisting <br />families in need allowing children to attend summer programs while their parents <br />work. <br /> <br />b. Ratify Human Services Request - Eversource bill $1,715.41 – Approved 6-0 <br /> <br />3. Other Issues <br />a. Update: Grocery Card Program <br />Charlotte Rodgers explained Human Services has grocery gift cards on hand to help <br />those in need to be able to get food. <br /> <br />b. Update: Holiday Gift Card Program <br />Charlotte Rodgers explained that the Fund for Lexington and the Rotary Club match <br />funds for the Human Services Department to purchase TJX gift cards. These gift <br />cards are given to families with children under 18 in order to buy a gift for the <br />Holiday. <br /> <br />c. Review Fund for Lexington Annual Appeal Letter <br />Doug Lucente stated he will be drafting the Annual Appeal Letter and asked the <br />Board for input. The Board agreed the letter should include highlights of the Fund’s <br />three purposes: Assist Lexington residents in need, Support beautification projects <br />and Support community betterment initiatives. <br /> <br />4. Next Meeting <br /> The next meetings are scheduled as follows: <br /> December 10, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. <br /> March 11, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />5. Approval of June 11, 2018 Meeting Minutes. <br />On a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 6-0 to approve the June 11, 2018 <br />meeting minutes. <br />
