<br />D R A F T <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br /> <br />September 29, 2015 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen’s Office <br /> <br />Present: Norman Cohen, Alan Fields, Ed Grant, Peter Kelley, Paul Shupe and Alan Wrigley; <br />Charlotte Rodgers, Director of Human Services; Kristie Demirev, Assistant Director of Youth <br />and Family Services and Human Services Intern Mao Beckett. <br /> <br />1. Money Available as of 8/31/15: Income $ 60,865 <br /> Principal $139,605 <br /> <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Human Services Report: May 6, 2014 to September 28, 2015. Charlotte Rodgers and <br />Kristie Demirev reported on the activities of the Human Service Department relating <br />to families and individuals in need of assistance. During this period twenty families <br />applied for recreation scholarships. A number of food cards and fuel assistance were <br />provided. Reasons for turning requests down were discussed, including non- <br />emergency, repeated assistance and not being able to produce financial documents. <br />b. Ratify Human Services Request - $2,260 for Back Rent (May 2015) – Approved 6-0 <br />c. Ratify Human Services Request - $900 for Past Due Water/Sewer Bill (Sept. 2015) – <br />Approved 6-0 <br /> <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. Discuss the Fund for Lexington Fund and its relationship to other Funds. The <br />members had a general discussion about the various funds that are available to help <br />the needy. <br /> <br />4. Next Meeting – January 19, 2016, 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />5. Approval of the May 5, 2015 minutes. Since the minutes were not included in the packet <br />they will be submitted for approval at the next meeting. <br /> <br />
