<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br /> <br />October 22, 2013 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen’s Office <br /> <br />Present: Norman Cohen, Deborah Mauger, Father Colletti, Edmund Grant, Alan Wrigley; Emily <br />Lavine, Assistant Director of Family and Human Services, Human Services Department. <br /> <br />1. Money Available as of 9/30/13 Income $57,944 <br /> Principal $119,600 <br /> <br /> <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Human Services Report: June 19, 2013 to October 22, 2013. <br />Emily Lavine gave the Human Services report. This four month period has been <br />extremely busy. More than $10,000 was given out for financial assistance to families <br />who are struggling. It was noted that 29 homeless families are currently being housed <br />in the Quality Inn on Bedford Street. <br />b. Ratify Poll Vote - Human Services Request for $2,000 for Human Services <br />Emergency Fund – Ratified 5-0. <br />c. Ratify Poll Vote – Human Services Request for $2,000 for Rent for Mom3 – Ratified <br />5-0 <br />d. Ratify Poll Vote – Human Services Request for $2,600 for Rent for Single Mom – <br />Ratified 5-0 <br />e. Ratify Poll Vote - Human Services Request for $2,000 for Human Services <br />Emergency Fund (9/10/2013) – Ratified 5-0. <br />f. Ratify Poll Vote - Human Services Request for $2,000 for Human Services <br />Emergency Fund (9/20/2013) – Ratified 5-0. <br />g. The Human Services New Request for $500.00 for the purchase of Market Basket gift <br />cards was approved 5-0. <br /> <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. After a lengthy discussion, the request by the Lincoln Park Subcommittee for <br />$10,000 to landscape and beautify the surroundings of the new bathroom at <br />Lincoln Park was approved by a vote of 5-0. The money is to be sent to the Lions <br />Club who will furnish the Fund Board with evidence of how the money was <br />spent. <br />b. It was noted that the Memorial Flagpole Rededication at the Town Pool was <br />scheduled for 10:00 am on October 25, 2013. <br /> <br />4. Next Meeting <br /> The next meeting will be on January 28, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />5. Approval of the June 18, 2013 minutes - Approved 5-0. <br /> <br />
