<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br /> <br />December 13, 2016 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen’s Office <br /> <br />Present: Norman Cohen, Alan Fields, Ed Grant, Paul Shupe and Alan Wrigley; Kristie Demirev, <br />Assistant Director of Youth and Family Services. <br /> <br /> <br />1. Money Available as of 11/30/16: Income $ 32,713.21 <br /> Principal $ 267,366.21 <br /> <br /> <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Human Services Report: September 1, 2016 to November 30, 2016 -- Kristie Demirev <br />reviewed the activity for the period and stated that requests for financial aid continue <br />to be slow. There were request for help with rent payments and for fuel assistance. A <br />number of requests for winter coats were submitted as the holiday season approaches. <br /> <br />b. Ratified: Human Services Request -- $1,842 for Rent – Approved 6 – 0. <br /> <br />c. Ratified: Human Services Request -- $2,325 for Clothing Gift Cards for low-income <br />families – Approved 6 – 0. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. Kristie Demirev discussed the need for scholarship funds to aid low-income families <br />seeking to send children to summer camp programs sponsored by the Town. She will <br />come up with plans on how the Fund can assist with this need. <br /> <br /> <br />4. Next Meeting – March 7, 2017, 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />5. Approval of the September 13, 2016 minutes – Approved 6-0. <br />
