November 13, 2018 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br /> Tuesday, November 13, 2018 <br /> A meeting of the Lexington Board of Selectmen was called to order at 6:33 p.m. on Tuesday, <br /> November 13, 2018 in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. Present <br /> were Ms. Barry, Chair; Mr. Pato; Mr. Lucente; and Ms. Hai as well as Mr. Malloy, Town <br /> Manager; Ms. Axtell, Assistant Town Manager; and Ms. Siebert, Recording Secretary. Ms. <br /> Ciccolo was absent for this meeting but expected to join Special Town Meeting in progress later <br /> in the evening, <br /> Town Manager Report <br /> Mr. Malloy stated that the $650,000 amount for 2018 STM-1 Article 3 has been revised to <br /> $550,000. Correspondingly, the amount going into the Stabilization Fund for Article 8 has <br /> revised from $45,000 to $145,000. He noted that Board members may wish to change their <br /> positions because of this. <br /> Mr. Malloy invited members to a Topping Off ceremony at Hastings Elementary School on <br /> Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. <br /> 2018 STM-1 ArticlePositions/Discussion <br /> The Selectmen reviewed their positions. The resulting chart is appended to these minutes. <br /> Establish Town Meeting and Town Election Dates <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Selectmen voted 4-0 to open the 2019 <br /> Annual Town Meeting Warrant for submission of Citizen Petitions through Thursday, December <br /> 20, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Selectmen voted 4-0 to establish Monday, <br /> March 4, 2019 as the date for the Annual Town Election. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Selectmen voted 4-0 to establish Monday, <br /> March 25, 2019 as the date for the opening session of the 2019 Annual Town Meeting. <br /> Review and Sign Letter of Opposition to FCC Proposal 18-131 <br /> Mr. Pato reported he had been contacted by the Executive Director of LexMedia regarding <br /> submission of a letter of opposition to a proposed Federal Communication Commission (FCC) <br /> rule change. The deadline for comments is tomorrow, November 14, 2018 but the Chair of the <br /> Communications Advisory Committee (CAC) asks the Selectmen to delay action on the letter <br /> until the CAC has had time to craft a response specific to Lexington. Since there is another 30- <br /> day response window re: comments already submitted, Lexington has another 30-day window <br /> for this letter to be written. <br /> The Board agreed with the proposed plan. The CAC letter will come before the Selectmen for <br /> approval before it is submitted to the FCC. <br />
