Environmental Health report was reviewed and the following cases were discussed; <br /> Waxy O'Connors; The Board reviewed reports from Health Agent Kathy Fox, and Public Health Nurse <br /> David Neylon, regarding a chemical exposure incident on October 24, 2018. <br /> Cliffe Avenue Vacant Lot; Ethan Mascoop, Lexington Health Consultant, investigated reports of <br /> dumping at a vacant lot on Cliffe Avenue. Mr. Mascoop advised that Town Council review the matter <br /> before any determination is made by the BOH. (See November 14, 2018 meeting minutes for more <br /> detail). <br /> Consider action on rDNA regulation amendment; The LBOH will hold a public hearing on December <br /> 19, 2018 to consider proposed revisions to Article V. <br /> Tilos Therapeutics - New rDNA Permit Application; Randall Burton and Barrett Perchuk, Tilos <br /> Therapeutics representatives, reviewed operations and facility specifications for lab and office space at <br /> 65 Hayden Avenue, 3rd Floor. After some discussion, Burt Perlmutter, M.D., proposed a motion that <br /> stated, "The Lexington Board of Health grants an annual rDNA Permit to Tilos Therapeutics, upon <br /> receipt of required permits." Sharon MacKenzie R.N., CCM, seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> Theatre Pharmacy—CBD Oil Sales; Stephen Camelio, Theatre Pharmacy Pharmacist, met with the <br /> board to discuss the sale of CBD Oil. Mr. Camelio will conduct more research and return to a future <br /> BOH meeting. <br /> Lexington Noise Committee—Leaf Blowers Discussion; Lee Minardi and Nick Atshartous, met with the <br /> board to discuss a proposed 2020 Town Warrant Article for noise control being drafted by the Lexington <br /> Noise Advisory Committee. The Committee will meet with the Board of Selectmen and Town Manager <br /> to review this article further. <br /> The Emergency Preparedness report was reviewed and the following topics were discussed; <br /> During the recent MRPC Stakeholder meeting, Tavish MacLeod of the Massachusetts Department of <br /> Public Health, Office of Preparedness and Emergency Management (MDPH OPEM),presented on the <br /> joint project between OPEM and the Bureau of Environmental Health to develop an online Emergency <br /> Preparedness Portal. The portal provides a wealth of data for use by Stakeholders to support emergency <br /> planning on a regional and community level. The portal is still being developed and is not yet available <br /> for use. <br /> The Massachusetts Health and Homeland Alert Network(HHAN) recently announced the roll-out of its <br /> first stage of the HHAN Data Stream Project, automating certain types of alerts, using publicly available <br /> data. A HHAN user can now receive an automated push of Food and Drug Recalls (daily bulk <br /> messaging on individual recalls) from the FDA and/or Drug Shortage information (HHAN scans this site <br /> hourly for new info) from the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists. A message was sent to <br /> all HHAN users in October. <br /> Sharon MacKenzie R.N., CCM, motioned that the meeting be adjourned and Burt Perlmutter, M.D., <br /> seconded. All were in favor. The meeting adjourned at 8:58 PM. <br /> It was noted that the next meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. <br />
