At a Meeting of the Freeholders & other Inhabitants <br />.of -the the town of Lexington May 6th, 1805 <br />Then make Choise'of Colo. William Munroe to Represent <br />them in the General Court the ensuing Year, said <br />Munroe had '54 votes Isaac N2stings Esqr had 19 John <br />Mulliken 18 Nathan Chandler Esqr. 40 Capt Jonas -Bridge <br />had 2 the Meeting for a Representitve was Disolved- <br />Capt..Jonas Bridge was'then Chosen Moderator &the <br />Articles in the Warrant was took up -- <br />Voted to Grant $1385. to defray town Charges the -pres- <br />ent year. <br />Voted that the Money that may be granted for School- <br />ing shall be Equally divided into six equal parts. <br />'Voted to raise $800 Doll for the Schools the present <br />year. <br />Voted two Hundred Dollars of the aforesaid sum for <br />Womens Schools to be equally divided in - six parts said <br />schools to be kept in the School houses•or as near as <br />is Conveinent. <br />Noted that the Mans School be opened Between'the 15th <br />of Novr. & the 1st of December. <br />Voted to pass over the 3d Article to hear Report their <br />Committee. Respecting the School -house in ye Stone quar- <br />ter <br />Voted to Submit the matter Respecting ye Widow, Perrys <br />Estate to the Selectmen. <br />Voted to grant Mr. Joseph Mason 20 Dol as Extra Con- <br />sideration for Bourding his Sister Lydia, it was then <br />voted to take up the third Article again it was then <br />moved and seconded to see if ye town would put over <br />the third Article in the warrant an& the Committees <br />report thereon, passed in the Negative it was seconded <br />& moved for a poll passed again in the Negative. <br />Voted to except of the Committees Report respecting <br />the school -houses in the Stone Quarter so Called: which <br />was. to set said school -house by ye third Cherry tree <br />in Mr. Amos Marretts house on either side of the lane <br />as shall best suit: if said Land Cannot be procured, <br />then to set said House a little back of said.Marretts <br />little barn on thirds of Mrs. Rebecca'Meriam. <br />Voted to Choose three men in each District to hire <br />School - Masters accordingly were Chosen in the middle <br />Division Missrs.Joshua Russell Josiah Mead & Nathan <br />Munroe: in the west quarter. Majr. John Bridge Isaac <br />Hastings Esqr. & John Muzzy, -South quarter William <br />Smith Jur. Josiah Smith & Jonas Smith East quarter <br />Stephen Winship Joshua Swan & Ebenezer White, -North <br />district Jacob Robbinson Reuben Lock & Nathan Reed Jur. <br />& in Scotland so Called Jonathan 'Winship Nathan Rus- <br />sell & Joseph Harrington -- the Meeting was then <br />--- Disolved. <br />bounds Lexington Novr. 1804 Report of the Selectmen in renuing <br />of the bounds of roads then' the Selectmen renwed the bounds <br />road of the road from the road leading to Dr. Joseph Fisks <br />over Jr. over buck hill so Called. down to the new piece <br />back of way that was laid out to Wymans fulling Mill and <br />hill made the following Monuments (viz) a stake & Stones <br />in the Eight Mile line Opposit the road leading to said <br />Fisks thence North to a Stake & Stones thence to Stake <br />& Stones by a great rock near where the Eight mile line <br />Crosses the roads thence keeping the road as now trod <br />over the hill the wall on the westerly side to be <br />the bounds to the foot of the hill on the Northeasterly <br />side then we pist down a Stake & Stones on the South- <br />erly side of the road by MIr. David Simonds land thince <br />running a.Strait line which Comes within one foot of the <br />Northwest Corner of said Simonds barn thince to the north <br />side of a willow tree by said Simonds house thince a <br />Strait line about Sixteen rods to a Stake & Stones two <br />feet from Simonds wall thence a Strait line to a Stake <br />& Stones'by Simonds wall where the road turns to go to <br />the fulling Mill & about one rod North of an Apple tree <br />in Simonds land, said road is One rod & a half wide <br />
