To maximize the possibility of having the funds authorized to be dis- bursed, we should seek a partner, such as a local business, Conservation Department or the Dana Home and matching funds from public and private sources. We should also seek sup- port from the Selectmen and other Town Committees as well as invite the Governor or Lieu- tenant Governor to look at the project site. Conservation will, of course, have to be involved, but we should also include the School Dept and the Recreation Dept, as well as the Commu- nity Center. Due to the time frame on this, we may have to put some other trail projects on hold. It would be good to start the planning now, since we will need a survey and wetland de- lineations. Michelle Ciccolo as our new state representative will be able to help get us in po- sition for a successful request for funds. Keith will set up a meeting with Karen Mullins to dis- cuss next steps for this project. • Keith, Mike, Eileen, and Richard Canale all attended a meeting with BJ Dunn, the new direc- tor of the Minute Man National Historic Park. We cannot put signs in the Park, but we can put them at the Park boundaries if we want ACROSS routes to use Park trails. We can also show their trails on our maps. They would like to have a marked route from the Park to the Lexington Green. The old Sheraton Hotel was going to fund a trail, but it never got built. GCC can negotiate with the hotels for routes to access Cranberry Hill and Lincoln St. We cannot mark on Fiske Hill, but can show routes through there on our maps. • There is a Scenic Byway meeting scheduled for October 15. Mike will attend. • Discussion of meeting date - it was decided to meet the 3rd Thursday of each month (except when we change it). Changing the time was discussed, but no change was decided upon. Pending Items: • Concord Ave land management plan (Alex) - a short discussion of this took place.
