Include uses of the building, and the role(s)the <br /> owners/occupants played within the community. <br /> In 1964 the School Committee voted to build a new elementary school on Moreland Avenue because of the need for classroom <br /> space in the eastern part of town. The school was built according to the same plan as the Bridge Elementary School at 55 <br /> Middleby Road which was constructed at the same time. <br /> The Bowman School was designed by the architectural firm of Clinch, Crimp,Brown&Fisher.
