<br /> TaE Selectmen have this day settled with GEo. O.DAVIS,
<br /> Collector of Taxes for 1871, and find that there was
<br /> committed to him,on the general tax bill,for collection, $38,446 06
<br /> On a special tax, subsequently committed, 97 37
<br /> Total committed, . $38,543 43
<br /> And that he has allowed in abatements, $533 39
<br /> In discounts for prompt payments, 3,641 09
<br /> That he has collected and paid to the Treasurer,34,054 41
<br /> ,y

<br /> 'Leaving a balance uncollected of $314 54

<br /> The Selectmen have this day settled'with GEo. O. Davis, Treasurer,
<br /> for the year 1871, and find that be charges himself with the
<br /> following sums,from different sources, viz:

<br /> Received from I. N. Damon, as overpay as Assessor, 52 00
<br /> Received from Rev. E. G. Porter, on bill twice paid, 5 90
<br /> Received from Jonas Gammell, error in settlement, 13 87
<br /> Borrowed in anticipation of collection of taxes, . 9,500 00
<br /> Received from Committee on Dedication of Town Hall, 93 25
<br /> Received from rent of Town Hall, 129 00
<br /> Received from rent of Store and Masonic Hall, 220 50
