a <br /> CommonWealtt of j9a55av jtt5rttz. <br /> MIDDLESEX, ss. <br /> At the Superior Court begun and holden at Concord, within and <br /> for the County of Middlesex,.on the first Monday of June, being the <br /> sixth day of said month, Anno Domini 1864, the Town of Lexing- <br /> ton present to this Court the following code of by-laws for approval,to wit: " rg.By-laws relating to Truancy, and other Offences against R E P 0 R 1 . <br /> the School Laws." <br /> 1st, It shall be the duty of the teachers in the public schools, <br /> whenever any pupil is absent, to ascertain promptly whVther it was <br /> for a sufficient reason, arid, if not, to, report the truancy to the <br /> parents or guardian of the offender. <br /> 2d,• If any such pupil, being between the ages of seven and six- ' THE FRANKLIN SCHOOL. —As for several years before, this <br /> teen years, shall, in the course of the same term, be guilty of a school remained through the year in the charge of Miss FRAN- <br /> second offence of truancy, the name of the pupil so offending shall be CES M.
